THE RESTRUCTURING OF SHIPPING ALLIANCES FROM FEB 2025

Following to shipping industry lastest update, 10 major global shipping companies will restructuring to 3 New shipping alliance from 1st Feb 2025 as below;

  •  The 2M alliance terminated. Maersk will collaborate Hapag Lloyd in a new alliance called Gemini.
  • Ocean Alliance will continue with the same member companies and services. (CMA- CGM, Cosco, OOCL, Evergreen)
  • THE Alliance will have three members in future instead of four (Oneline, Yangming, HMM) following the departure of Hapag Lloyd, new alliance called Premier Alliance.
  • MSC will operate alone and share slot with others alliance.

1/ Premier Alliance Services to Europe/MED

The Asia –Europe Trade services via CoGH under Premier Alliance is as below:

  • FP2: Singapore – Southampton – Antwerp

On the others hand, MSC will share slot with Premier alliance to have more services.

Overall, the alliances will offer more services from February 2025 on. The different shipping companies have decided to increase the number of joint services they offer, which will increase from 17 to 24 between Asia and Europe and from 9 to 17 between Asia and the Mediterranean.
